My Story

I am originally from Ephraim, Utah, but I grew up in a little town in southern Utah just west of St. George. There I completed all secondary education. I even participated in concurrent enrollment classes at Dixie State University and Southern Utah University. I was also lucky enough to take part in the Utah Boys’ State at Weber State University and the Governor’s Honors Academy at SUU. In each endeavor, I learned special lessons and skills that I will take with me my whole life. While attending the Governor’s Honors Academy, I participated in an activity called Transcendence Day. On this day, my love for my fellow man and my other emotions, as it happened with all alumni, were heavily tried and strengthened.

In fact, because of that experience, I felt urged to complete a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to teach others to improve upon their own lives. By so doing, my own was lifted and I had a sense of purpose. I have just recently returned from the Brazil João Pessoa Mission, and while there, I learned many lessons and skills. These lessons include the importance of having a purpose and loving the people. Immediately following my mission, I felt my sense of purpose disappear and that frightened me. I realize now that I have a purpose. It is to continue to serve and love the people in a way that only an education can provide to me. For this reason I study pre-medicine and further my education.
